Tanner took 2nd place this last weekend at the Sno*Drift Rally in northern Michigan. The event was the first of nine that make up the Rally America Series not including they also section the X-Games Rally competition. Tanner was in a rented 2003 Hyundai Tiburon that has been used (and abused) by several drivers over the year, it’s surprising the car made it through in one piece much more that it finished 2nd!
Word is that Tanner is having a Mitsubishi Evolution X built and wasn’t ready for competition but hopefully will be ready to debut at the 100 Acre Wood Rally in late February.
Notice that he’s running on Pirelli Tires which does not coincide with his new drift tire sponsor Hankook. This is a direct competition to Hankook who does make rally tires. Could be that the rental car team (John Buffum) has Pirelli as a sponsor but we will definitely have to follow up on this at the next event. Not many drivers can pull off competing sponsors in different series. Will Tanner be will running a Mitsubishi on Pirelli in rally and a Scion on Hankook in drift? He really must be the “Golden Child”.

Tanner for president of awesome.
