Ryuji Miki and his Formula D future?

Well let me start off saying that this is a total rumor and no one has told me anything to verify this is true but I have a sneaky feeling my prediction will come true. Taniguchi, Orido, and Miki are the three drivers in this picture above. Ironically all of them have driven in Formula D in some way shape or form but Miki was the one who shocked us out of this group. Will he be returning for the 2009 Formula D season, we don’t think so… with APEX in a poor financial state and him not quite being in the marketing globe for the 08 season we have to think the Bergenholtz brothers would be considering a new driver for the Mazda. Who will it be? Am I way off base? This could all be true but as the off season gets smaller more people will talk and we will be on top of the breaking stories. Now seeing him driving in MSC and digging up stuff on the few Japanese sites I can make sense of anything at I just feel Miki’s Formula D career is over for now but we shall see.

It could happen… its hard to market a dude with what could be seen as a chick haircut and speaks little to no english.
I will say this though, who can be in the bergenholtz driver seat? JTP comes to mind, so does tony angelo and ever Ryan T. Not saying this because I’m a DA fan boy, but those are the only guys I can see being competitive in this platform…. even maybe orido himself as well. He is a good crossover.
It would be interesting if a guy like taka drove a FD as well. Only time will tell, for all I know this can be the last stand for apex-i and bergenholtz in this motorsport as we know it.
As i would love to see one of the DA Boys piloting this car for obvious reasons, I have to say that out of all the J dudes Miki is by far my favorite.
He has alot of experience in multiple chassis and his often “wild” driving style makes him a fun driver to watch in this era of “same thing” american drifting.
I have been a “fan” of Miki’s since 02 when he was blasting aero off his Blue S14 to putting top secret in the red with multiple clips to the rear end. To be honest he did wonders for the Bergenholtz team’s image as a crossover team (drag to drift)and i think if they had not hired such a solid, experienced driver their season and possibly even future in American drifting could have played out very differently.
If they’re really looking for another driver i think JTP would be the best pickup available if he’s available.
Not knocking the tony, JTP has done more in 1 year of Formula D than tony’s whole career. JTP is rad, tony is still pretty competitive though but JTP is the better bang/buck combo if they’re looking at this.
Is Hampshaa available? Isn’t Gardella building a new car?
I think JTP should get it and Miki go to Signal, J-Land experts agree.
